William Morris & John Ruskin: A New Road on Which the World Should Travel
John Ruskin, art critic, artist, social thinker and philanthropist, was extremely important to William Morris, who wrote that Ruskin's views offered "a new road on which the world should travel" - a road that led Morris himself to social and political change.
To commemmorate the bicentenary of Ruskin's birth, this collection of essays on Morris and Ruskin has been selected from the archives of the Journal of William Morris Studies. It also includes two new pieces commissioned for this book from John Blewitt and renowned Ruskin scholar Sara Atwood. It is published by The William Morris Society and The University of Exeter Press.
