Brother Rabbit, also known as Brer Rabbit, is one of the most distinctive and best loved designs from William Morris. It was first designed in 1881 for the opening of his Merton Abbey works in 1882. The design was inspired by a character in the Uncle Remus stories by the American journalist and writer J. C. Harris, which Morris would read to his two young daughters.
